10. Take a walk

The simplest nighttime Hoboken activity is a walk. You can enjoy modern roads as well as old cobblestone roads here and you can even walk to Pier C Park for a walk with a view.

The Hudson River Waterfront Walkway is an area to consider at night as well. It offers impressive views of the city and opens green space to relax in. If you’re only interested in a short walk, the Columbus Square Park next to the John F. Kennedy Stadium can be a worthy alternative.

Hoboken has its share of 24h gyms. You can join 24 Hour Fitness on Bergen Avenue to stay in shape, even if you have to train at night. It might also be a better option for walking during the night if you don’t feel safe.

If you aren’t interested in training by night but you still want to go to the gym at odd hours, there are other places to consider in Hoboken. One of them is The Fit Lab. The gym opens early at 6 AM and it’s the preferred locations of young professionals who need to train before heading off to work.

Many restaurants serve long hours in Hoboken. We particularly like Artichoke Basille Pizza when you can have a slice of delicious crab pizza. The pizzeria is open until 4 AM.

The style of pizza you can enjoy in Hoboken is diverse. In the ’60s, the Irish and the Italians came to the neighborhood bringing their culinary heritage to the city. As a result, you will find all Italian pizzas to taste here, even during the night.

7. Eat some fries

If you’re still hungry, you might be up for fries with cheese. We like Johnny Rockets as the place is just across the street from the late-night Washington Street bars. You can eat fries right at the location or you can walk to the pier to enjoy a distinct sunrise while eating your favorite snack.

6. Stock up on emergency medicine

You might never have the time to buy emergency medicine. But 24h Hoboken pharmacies are just where you can head to be ready for the next lockdown. CVS Pharmacy at 59 Washington Street is open at night.

5. Shop at Walgreens

Not all Walgreens stores are open at night. But the one on Willow Avenue allows nighttime shopping. You can catch up on your groceries here and you also have the benefit of free parking.

Milk, cereal, fruits, vegetables, and even stationery can be found at the store. You might not need all of them during the night, but it’s reassuring to know you can quickly shop for a few ingredients if you are hungry and you can’t sleep.

4. Sample Middle East’s best food

Hoboken is an international melting pot. If you’ve always planned to eat new international food, you might just do it at night, when the lines are short. Mamoun’s Falafel place is a great place to stop by and it’s open until 5 AM.

Shawarmas and chicken kebobs are also popular at Mamoun’s. As it’s a chain restaurant, it has the advantage of standardized menus. You can come back to the eatery to enjoy the same meal with the same oriental taste. Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free versions of these foods are also served at Mamoun’s.

3. Hit the bars

Hoboken has more bars per person than any other region in the country. It’s no surprise given the strong Irish community of Hoboken. You can enjoy a relaxing drink after a long day at work nearly on every major street in the area.

The Wicked Wolf Tavern is a good place to stop by when you need a drink late at night. Riverside seating is available outdoors here, which can’t be said about most other bars in the area. There are even large flat-screen TVs to count on if you want to catch up with your local sports team. You don’t need to go anywhere else if you love live music either. Good bands play here often.

2. Earn extra cash

There are a few methods you can use to earn extra cash in Hoboken by night. You can get a part-time job as a delivery driver for one of the local restaurants. You could also consider walking dogs by night for busy professionals. Alternatively, you can start a business washing car by night in one of New Jersey’s 23 carwash locations.

To get a part-time job in Hoboken, you still need a criminal record check and a certification. For occasional jobs, you can check local ads in stores such as Walgreens or simply look at online classifieds.

1. Get into nighttime photography

Taking photos by night is charming. It shows the world differently than during the day. Attractive spots to consider include the Hoboken History Museum and Pier 13. You can try your luck with landscapes at Maxwell Place Park or Pier A Park. Alternatively, you can have fun with traffic nighttime photos anywhere along Willow Avenue.

It’s not all about riverside photos in Hoboken. You can also consider the Kennedy stadium area for interesting photos. If you’re a fan of street photography, you’ll see the first joggers in the area starting at 5 AM.

If you’re still unsure about where to start your Hoboken photography journey, you can look at famous local photographers and their art. Dorothea Lange is a German-descent photographer from Hoboken. Her work took her around the country early on from the age of 23, but all initial learning was right here in Hoboken.
